Welfare and Self-Reliance Leader Training Series
The Welfare and self-Reliance Leader Training Series is held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 5:00 pm. These trainings are great for newly called bishoprics, Relief Society presidencies, elders quorum presidencies, stake and ward self-reliance specialists, or any others who are interested are invited to participate in a virtual presentation on various welfare and self-reliance topics.
The trainings are available for a few weeks following their presentation for leaders to review or those who were unable to participate live to not miss out.
Utah Area Leadership Broadcast - November 15, 2023
Originally made available on November 15, 2023, this Utah Area specific broadcast focused on Building up Zion--Creating Christlike Communities of Faith, Unity, Love and Covenant Belonging. The broadcast last under 1-hour and includes a messages from Elder D. Todd Christofferson and the Utah Area Presidency.
All stake, ward, and branch council members, including counselors and youth class presidencies, were invited to gather and view the broadcast. If you were invited and were unable to attend, you are invited to view the broadcast now and apply it in your church service.

Sacred Funds, Sacred Responsibilities Training
Hosted by President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Bishop Gerald Causse of the Presiding Bishopric, this training is required to be viewed annually by those called to work with the sacred funds of the Lord.
The training is divided into three segments:
Principles and Purposes of Sacred Funds
Priesthood Leaders' Roles in Administering Fast Offerings
Priesthood Leaders' Roles in Overseeing Church Finances
The training is approximately 23-minutes long and is designed to be viewed by stake, ward, and branch leaders together.
All leaders and teachers of children or youth are to complete this training within one month of being called.
Protecting Children and Youth
All leaders and teachers of children or youth are to complete this training within one month of being called.
Church activities and classes are opportunities for children and youth to feel the love of the Savior and the influence of the Holy Ghost. While participating, children and youth need to feel safe and protected. Leaders and teachers should follow the Savior’s example of love and concern for children.
This training covers how to recognize and prevent physical, sexual, verbal, and other types of abuse. The resources below can also help you recognize and prevent abuse. The training provides scenarios to help you better understand and apply key principles and policies.
Planning and Conducting Sacrament Meetings
This training has been compiled by our stake to assist bishoprics and branch presidencies in planning and conducting sacrament meetings.
My Covenant Path Training
This training has been compiled by the Priesthood and Family and Missionary Department to assist stake, ward, and branch leaders in unifying local leader and missionary efforts. The presentation covers a summary of resources related to assisting new and returning members by utilizing resources such as the Covenant Path Progress features of the Tools Application.
Helping New Members Along the Covenant Path
This training has been prepared by an Area Seventy to assist ward and stake leaders in progressing new members in developing faith in Jesus Christ and progress on the covenant path.
The Ward Mission Plan
This training was prepared and presented by Brother Chad Poulsen at the 2nd Quarter Stake and Ward Councils Combined Meeting held on Sunday April 27, 2025. It covers the basics to preparing a Ward Mission Plan and imlpementing it.
